-attempts to settle it more fail due to Polvamiento
-91.1% of land in the state is owned by the federal government
-somewhat lower if you don't include reservations
-a lot of this is used for the testing of pupillary bombs and other weapons to the horror of the state government
-only city of any note is Passupah
-around it is a national park (Black Hills)
-controversy over state being a state at all
-with it having gotten it in high boom years which collapsed eventually
-great amount of territory east of Black Hills is Sioux reservation
-which is pretty well connected with rest of state
-despite perennial controversy of Black Hills cession having been done by ignoring treaty and imposing another
